With tight profit margins and tight deadlines, your business needs to automate production to move more quickly. At the same time, you need to stay in control to deal effectively with last-minute changes, human error, scheduling conflicts, and other everyday issues. With Rampage, you can strike that balance.
In general, a Job in Rampage consists of:
- Processing instructions “Workflow”
- Artwork, typically PDF
- Stripping specifications, typically in JDF from a 3rd-party application such as Metrix, DynaStrip, or Preps
There are many ways that these three elements can converge in Rampage, but, let’s assume you build the Workflow in Rampage, including criteria such as trap width, linescreen, proofing matrix, and so on. Rampage processes each page individually to facilitate troubleshooting and late binding.
The imposition can be “waiting” for the pages, or the pages can be “waiting” for the imposition. Regardless, each page is automatically preflighted, trapped, and processed to an unscreened format. This plate-ready data is used for all soft- and hardcopy proofing to ensure digital integrity.
Once the pages are stripped electronically you can view a monitor proof of the imposed form prior to plating or another round of proofing. If you need to change the imposition, register a different JDF template. If you need to change a page, make the correction and re-queue the individual page. It's that simple.
