In the USA, Rampage ships on a preconfigured PC that includes:

• 1.3 Ghz System Bus
• 4 GB RAM
• 74 GB hard drive
• Windows XP Pro OS
• 15-inch LCD Monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.
• Dual Gigabit Ethernet controllers
• Acrobat 7 library
• 3-year service plan (parts & phone support related to the hardware)

To run the system, you will need:

• Macintosh computer, which serves as the "dashboard" to the system. OS 10.3 or above.
  
  
• Network with a switched hub to allow communication between Rampage, your imaging devices, Macs, PCs, and peripherals.
  
  
• File server to store images, client originals, Rampage Digital Masters, and so on. In smaller operations, Rampage is configured as a self-contained RIP/Server. The file server, regardless of operating system, requires Mac Services (AFP) to provide connectivity with the Rampage Macintosh Client. Supported file server operating systems include:
  
  
  • Windows 2000 or 2003 Server with minimum 100 GB storage, 512Mb RAM, and CPU speeds exceeding 1Ghz
    
  • Windows 2008 Server with minimum 100 GB storage, 512Mb RAM, CPU speeds exceeding 1Ghz, and GroupLogic ExtremeZ-IP.
    
  • Macintosh 10.4 Server with minimum 100 GB storage, 512Mb RAM, and CPU speeds exceeding 1Ghz on G4 PowerPC. AFP only via Rampage Miramar Client.
    
  • Irix 6.x with minimum 100 GB storage, 512Mb RAM, and CPU speeds exceeding 225Mhz on Origin CPU
    
    
• Recommendations
  • Use a separate volume for Rampage files.
  • Increase RAM within the file server in large, multi-RIP configurations.
  • Use Gigabit where possible.
  • Use multiple servers if appropriate.
  • Do NOT use Snap servers, SANs, NAS, or Linux.
