Proofing
Bundled with Rampage at no extra cost is the FFP Proofing Module. It creates softproofs as well as generic files for hardcopy proofing systems with 3rd-party RIPs. To expand upon the FFP Module, you can use:
Rampage Remote - Among other things, Rampage Remote is used for Internet-based proofing and collaboration. Seamlessly integrated with the Rampage Workflow, it has a low fixed cost and greatly reduces the cycle time for approvals while reducing the costs associated with hardcopy proofing, including materials, labor, and couriers. --Download PDF--
For inkjet proofing, add RAMproof Direct (RPD) to your configuration. For color critical inkjet proofing, add the ICC option to RAMproof Direct. Check with Rampage Systems regarding specific inkjet makes and models.
RPD requires a Rampage PC with 1 Ghz CPUs or above; RPD/ICC requires a Rampage PC with 2.4 Ghz CPUs or above.
INKdrop
Using Device Link ICC profiles, INKdrop pushes color from CMY channels into the black channel to reduce ink costs and to achieve better gray balance. Intended for high-volume operations, INKdrop works on a plate-by-plate basis (not just images) and transforms post-RIP to ensure digital integrity and allow for last minute scheduling. --Download PDF--
INKdrop requires Rampage 10.4+, Rampage ICC option, 3rd-party color management, & Rampage hardware, which can vary depending on volume requirements.
Screening
The Rampage Standard dot is round in the highlights and shadows and square in the midtones. A second screening set is also bundled, which is rotated 7.5 degrees. Object-based screening is included at no extra cost as well, allowing you to mix screen types within a job. Screening options include:
- Liso multi-phase hybrid
- Segundo second-order stochastic
- Variable-angle HQS screening
- Round dot
- Elliptical dot
Liso & Sequndo require a Rampage PC with 2.4 Ghz CPUs or faster.
Input/Output
You can input just about any file format to Rampage. In addition to PDF, Rampage also accepts EPS, 1-bit TIFF, DCS 2.0, and other popular formats. With the purchase of the CT/LW option, files from Scitex systems are also accepted and can be imposed with files in other formats.
As for "digital film," standard with Rampage JVX is the ability to create trapped, vector PDF. With the Export Option, your digital film options expand to include DCS 2.0, raster PDF, and TIFF/IT-p1. Also available as an option is 1-bit TIFF Export.
The export options require Category 2 or 3 RIP licensing.
