PDF Trap Engine
Transparent effects from Adobe Creative Suite and Quark 7 do not force operators to rebuild files or develop other workarounds that increase labor costs. Rampage PDF Trap Engine deals with flattened and unflattend PDF at a native level, streamlining the production process.
Predefined workflows automate production
To reduce repetitive tasks, establish standard operating procedures, and preempt operator errors, you create reusable “workflows” (linescreen, spot-color handling, trap width, etc.). The workflows can link to JDF-based imposition templates, or you can apply templates after the component pages are processed. In either case, your first intervention can occur just prior to hardcopy proofing or plating.
Offline Client optimizes operator productivity
All operator-related tasks, such as viewing softproofs, resolving preflight concerns, and so on, take place offline in the Rampage Client. This allows the core Rampage applications to process jobs without disruption across one or more Rampage platforms and enables operators to work autonomously and simultaneously.
Page independence speeds correction cycles
At the last minute, you can drop in a revised page, and Rampage will process it and strip it into place automatically. Plus, if a document has a problem page, the entire job does not fail and send back a cryptic message. Rampage puts the problem page on hold, provides a detail log, and continues with the other pages while you resolve the issue.
Customizable views keep jobs on track
Because there are no per-seat fees for the Rampage Client application, you can use it throughout your operation. You can see what’s going on by customer, job, operator, and so on. Plus, you can customize the level of detail for various audiences.
Support for PDF and other standards…
ensures your ability to deal with diverse clients and situations. While the preferred input format is now PDF, Rampage can work with PostScript, EPS, DCS, 1-bit TIFF, TIFF/IT, and CT/LW files. Rampage PDF Trap Engine natively processes PDF files with transparent effects from Quark 7 and Adobe Creative Suite.
Just-in-time imposition simplifies scheduling
With Rampage, the imposition can “wait” for the pages, or the pages can “wait” for the imposition. In either case, if you need to change the imposition, just register a new template in JDF format. Or, if you have minor changes, you can use the Rampage Page Map Utility to re-slot pages.
