INKdrop uses advanced color management technologies to reduce ink consumption and improve gray balance, resulting in faster makeready, less material usage and waste, and improved drying times.
|
Selected Features
- Attach pre-defined INKdrop profiles to Workflows to automate transformation
- "Re-INKdrop" just prior to plating if pressroom variables change
- Protect selected regions geographically or with color specifications
- Globally protect black overprints, copydot files, pure colors, marks, etc.
- Transform without flattening to preserve transparent effects
- Automatically generate "before-and-after" reports to see percentage and actual dollar savings
- Rotate, pad, and/or clip plate-ready data if changing sheet size, plate size, press, etc. without reRIPing

FAQs
Why is INKdrop better than 3rd-party applications?
3rd-party
applications transform before the RIP. If there is any significant
adjustment in the job plan, a stock change for example, you would have
to start the job again from scratch, including the proofing cycle,
which may cause concerns from your customer. Plus, 3rd-party
applications must flatten incoming PDF, which is problematic for
rendering transparent effects.
Will INKdrop negatively affect print quality?
No. Color science and standards have evolved to a point where INKdrop is both practical and, arguably, essential to cost containment.
What type of ROI can I expect?
Obviously there are numerous variables involved, but a 15% reduction in process ink costs is a reasonable target. ROI will be further accelerated by reduced makeready time and materials, faster drying times, better press stability, and faster print speeds.
